  • Extended Fall Season in Bar Harbor

    Bar Harbor extended fall seasonOur sister property, the Bluenose Inn, will be opened weekends in the Fall until December 22nd. Arturo Montes of the Looking Glass will be creating some really amazing meals as part of these special weekends. In addition, holiday parties can be booked any day of the week from December 1st to December 19th.

    Rooms are available for Friday and Saturday evenings. In addition, the Eden Spa will be open 7 days a week by appointment only. The Romance on the Coast Package will be available all 7 weekends and includes lodging, breakfast and dinner for two.

    The following are the “themes” for each weekend:

    November 8 & 9:
    It’s Comedy and Murder Mystery in the Great Room – Friday Evening with Comedian Gary Crocker and Saturday Evening the “Murder of a Millionaire.”

    November 15 & 16:
    Wine Spectator Weekend – Dinners prepared by Looking Glass Executivee Chef, Arturo Montes, in the Rose Garden Restaurant (the Looking Glass is one of only two Wine Spectator Award Winners in Bar Harbor) specially selected wines to complement your meal. Bill Trowell will be entertaining in our Great Room from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. each evening.

    November 23:
    Celebration of the Hunt Beer & Wine Dinner – A special dinner prepared by Chef Montes.

    Bill Trowell will be entertaining in our Great Room from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. each evening.

    November 28 to 30 (rooms also available Thursday evening):
    The Bluenose Inn & Abbe Museum team up to present the history and culture of the Wabanaki Tribe. Bill Trowell will be entertaining in our Great Room from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. each evening.

    December 6 & 7:
    Community Holiday Celebrations!
    Bar Harbor’s Midnight Madness sale on Friday and the Island Arts Association Holiday Fair on Saturday. Bill Trowell will be entertaining in our Great Room from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. each evening.

    December 13 & 14:
    Spa Weekend Getaway – holiday specials on massages, manicure and facials! Bill Trowell will be entertaining in our Great Room from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. each evening.

    December 20 & 21:
    Chef’s Holiday Theme Dinners – prepared by Chef Montes in the Rose Garden. Bill Trowell will be entertaining in our Great Room from 7 p.m. till 11 p.m. each evening.

  • Construction on Small Section of Route 3

    Reconstruction of Route 3 begins with drainage installation on Sunday, August 19.  In order to minimize traffic impacts, MaineDOT has scheduled the work on Route 3 during overnight hours, beginning at 8 PM. All area businesses will be open and accessible during normal business hours.  Motorists should allow extra time.  The project includes reconstruction of one-tenth of a mile of Route 230 and six-tenths of a mile of Route 3 in the vicinity of Route 230 in Trenton.   It is anticipated that this work will continue through mid-November and then resume in the spring.  After Columbus Day weekend, construction on Route 3 and 230 may take place during the day.  All construction activity is weather-dependent so the schedule may change.

    2012 News for the Wonder View Inn

    We are looking forward to Spring and the 2012 Season.

    Opening Day for the Wonder View Inn will be Friday, May 11th.

    The Looking Glass Restaurant (opening on April 27th) added a deck last season. The deck is pet friendly for breakfast and dinner – weather permitting.

    Renovations continue with furniture upgrades planned for 35 rooms and new carpet in many others – we can’t wait for you to see the new look.

    Bill Trowell (BillTrowellMusic.com) will be returning again for his 16th season at the Great Room of the Bluenose Inn.
